Sources: Population projections are produced by the North Carolina Office of Budget and Management. Labor force and unemployment data are from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Historic population data for counties are from Social Explorer, based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau. All other data are from the U.S. Census Bureau.

*Errata: The county populations for McDowell, Macon, Madison, and Martin counties were initially mislabeled. They have been updated with the appropriate values. Please contact demography@unc.edu for any questions regarding the data.
